It's with much skepticism that I listen to or watch the news and/or read newspapers. It's funny how freedom of speech is allowed for the press (though usually embellished), but not for your everyday Joe/Jane. We know that models, most actors/actresses; hell many people in photos don't really look that good, so how do we know that what we see in photos presented by the press is really true? How many of us even pay enough attention to what we see because we believe so much of what is spoon fed to us? I'm not typically one for political debates because it causes more harm than good; just as I'm not one to believe a lot of what I see because I know how easy it is to manipulate things.
Well, a friend sent me a link yesterday regarding the press and some pictures they published. On sight some of the pix are hard to discern to find the embellishment, but there are some that are easy to question. Here's the link and take a look for yourself. PhotoFraud. Once you've seen and heard the commentary, maybe then many of us will take things a little more seriously, question more, and stop allowing ourselves to be spoon fed by the mass media and the government as to who's doing what to whom.

Wow. Even keeping in mind that the video was produced by an Israeli web site, the photos are certainly manipulated, and it's an excellent lesson in not blindly believing everything we see. Propoganda has always been easy to produce, and it's even easier in these days of Photoshop.
Believe nothing that you hear and only half of what you see!
Sidenote: JC - Thanks for the comment on the 23 Days Post.
Man I learned that lesson long ago!!! and thanks for stopping by!!!!
I hate the news.. I just watch it for the weather and traffic update!
Hmm, now the little blurb that went with the photo is something I would question. Nobody needs to show how badly Lebanon was hit - it was hit hard, as first hand accounts from Westerners living there will tell you.
The majority of the media have never told the truth - but it's a question of "who do you believe"? I think at the end of the day the best thing the individual can do is read widely, use discernment and form their own, hopefully educated, view. Certainly don't believe everything you see or hear - certainly not that promoted by media that is known to be biased - particularly if it's biased in favour of a government.
I agree- I try not to buy into the hype...
Thanks for stopping, and I have to show some love to another VIRGO/SAPPHIRE...
Hi Blu,
With regards to media news or gossip from the tabloids (re: celebrities, etc), so much of it is blown out of proportion.
To me, I feel it really insults reader's intelligence when a headline is blown out of glory and when you read the article, it was just a molehill made a mountain from speculation.
Sometimes, you know the media has nothing much to say. Then they take a nutshell and exaggerate on it enormously.
i don't believe anything i see on the media in the u.s.
i get my info from bbc.com
I don't believe any media without checking and considering what they say for myself. I was aware of many of these faked photos already, and I also know that the BBC is not "pure" when it comes to faked or overhyped news.
It was nice to read a post that shows there are still people capable of thinking for themselves. We are turning into a society of sheep, foolishly following wherever we are led. You are indeed a Jewel, Blu, with your ability to resist this impulse.
Amen, Amen, Amen...!!!!! Preach, Preach, Preach. I agree wholeheartedly...
