I know I've been incognegro for a minute since I dropped that poem and I don't mean to be, but I'm going through a transition of sorts and needed to concentrate on myself for a minute.
I have a couple more I plan to post since y'all liked that last one THAT much *smile*
I'm not sure if anyone has contact with BZ, but she's been MIA for a while and I'm concerned because she had some health issues and she's not returned calls/txts. If anyone has info, please email me or leave details in your comment.
Don, I've been reading you, just haven't commented; no diss, was just short on time. You're still making me think and laugh.
Like Stella, I'm getting my groove back and the Jewel will be shining even brighter than before.
For those who know and those who didn't, the 29th of this month marks the 1 year anniversary of my first surgery for breast cancer...I'm A SURVIVOR!!!! I've set up a team to participate in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk for October of this year in my area. I do plan to post details of the event and hope that you will donate to this cause.
In the mean time, I'm preparing for my 41st birthday...yes, I'm THAT old! *lol* and am looking forward to celebrating it clean of cancer and without the self-consciousness I did last year.
To God be the glory for the past year, for all of you, and for me never giving up.
Love!

Hi Blu, Welcome back! Sorry you were away but, SO happy that it was because you were doing you and getting the your groove back. Yes you are a SURVIVOR, thank you Jesus! and I pray that this year brings your hearts desire. I pray for you and your family that God continues to bless you in all you do.
Stay Blessed!
BZ is ok. Just busy as all hell. You know that girl doesn't know how to slow down.
Where are you doing the walk? Which weekend in October?
Gurl, just do you and enjoy that birthday to the fullest!
Wendy - Thank you so much for the well wishes. Transition and change sometimes come at a cost, but for me; it's definitely worth is. I'm thankful each day for my survivorship.
Org - thanks for the update on BZ, I'm happy that she's okay; just busy. Oct 19th in Ocean City, NJ is the walk.
Miz - thank sis. Sept 13th will be a very special day for me; looking forward to the celebration.
Love!
Not just surviving but thriving girl! Happy Anniversary and I know God will continue to see to your health. You should see the grin on my face! The big C is not always detected early enough in our community. My friends dad just passed yesterday because by the time he found out he had it (4 mos ago) it had already matasticized. So your story gives me hope!
I can only imagine how much you look forward to your 41st bday celebration, especially being a survivor of breast cancer.
The Jewel always shines, in my eyes. and stop playing about me ever thinking you have dissed me - I could never have anything but pleasant thoughts of you.
I have a couple more I plan to post since y'all liked that last one THAT much *smile* Bring it on. LOL.
ingrid - you're so right; thriving is exactly what i'm doing. as i stated when i shared my story, it's so important for us as a community to take care of ourselves and ensure we get the necessary screenings.
don - man, i can't even explain it, but it does feel really good. LOL @ your comment about me not wanting you to think i've been dissing you. the feeling is mutual. i can't wait to drop the ones i have in mind.
love!
Wonderful! God IS Good.
God is good all the time... and all the time God is good.
And since you're turning 41, you should really stop fooling all of us by looking like a twenty-something. LOL
Love ya,
Hawa
Congrats and Enjoy your birthday!
Congrats Blu, and my prayers are with you... You're a Survivor for sure! :0)
